Non-ferrous metals are the primary focus of KMG’s mined-resources business. We source and trade against buyer specifications and, where strategically aligned, participate upstream to strengthen production and develop local beneficiation at source.
KMG sources, purchases, moves and delivers mined commodities against buyer specifications. We remain accountable for source qualification, quality and weight documentation, secure inland movement, border and port processes, and contractual handover through the agreed Incoterm delivery point. Supply is developed through qualified producers and aggregators, with capacity built around the required specification and volume, subject to verified availability, compliance requirements and lead time.
KMG’s operating team oversees critical loading, custody and handover activities at origin and port when the trade requires. Independent inspectors or technical specialists may verify quality, quantity, sampling, weight or loading on KMG’s behalf, while approved transport and security providers perform specialist services within one accountable KMG trade.
Upstream integration

As part of its vertical-integration strategy, KMG has partnered with a Tanzanian mining company to expand upstream mining activity and develop local beneficiation capacity. This partnership strengthens KMG’s ability to build more secure, specification-led mineral supply chains with greater operational visibility and direct participation at source.
A successful electrowinning pilot has produced copper sheets as intended, validating the recovery method and demonstrating how locally mined ore can be converted into a higher-value product closer to origin. The pilot provides a technical basis for scale-up, strengthens supply security and supports value addition at source.

Each movement is structured around chain-of-custody controls appropriate to the commodity, origin, applicable law and client policy. For relevant mineral supply chains, due diligence may be mapped to OECD Guidance and the requirements applied by counterparties within LBMA-related markets.

When requested by the client or required by the cargo risk profile, KMG deploys monitoring for location, G-force, shock and impact events, light exposure, temperature and humidity where relevant. These conditions are continuously captured and recorded, then transmitted subject to route connectivity. KMG and the client receive configured exception alerts, enabling intervention while cargo is in transit. Following contractual delivery, the client receives a comprehensive post-trade report documenting the route, recorded conditions, incidents and monitoring results across the monitored journey.
